Looking for some amazing days out with the kids, or got some little ones you need to keep entertained as the summer draws to a close? South Devon boasts a whole host of fun-for-the-family days out from adventure parks to animal sanctuaries and aquariums! So, although the summer may be winding down, there’s no need for the fun to stop in Devon. We’ve put together a list of our absolute favourite days out that we think kids, toddlers (and parents) will love!
River Dart Country Park
Make the most of those last precious days of sun in the beautiful grounds of Dartmoor National Park. 90 acres of parkland are home to River Dart Country Park, a well-loved adventure park packed full of family attractions and activities. Enjoy the great outdoors with a wide range of park activities. Whiz down the mini zip wire, survey the waters on the pirate ship and slither down the snake slides! Also, new for 2019, reach new heights in the ‘Bounce Zone’, an inflatable haven that little ones will just love. Under 2s go free at River Dart Country Park so bring them along to the toddler beach or playground for a fun-filled day. Too much to explore for one day? Return for a free visit within 7 days by showing your valid proof of purchase and experience the fun all over again!
National Marine Aquarium
Explore the deepest depths of the ocean with National Marine Aquarium, the UK’s biggest aquarium. Get up close and personal with creatures from across the globe with the various aquarium zones. Brave a visit to the Starry Smooth Hounds in the British Coasts zone, a cool water shark with a ‘starry’ pattern, or meet Friday, a Green Turtle from the Atlantic Ocean zone. Wonder through the UV tunnel and become immersed in a wave of colour as tropical fish dive and dart by. Children can also burn off some excitement in the Lola Land soft play area or the sea-cret garden, open every day of summer. Bring your toddler along to Toddler Tuesdays for only £1 when purchased with an adult entry ticket and enjoy activities such as story-telling and treasure hunts.
