Galmpton Touring Park is situated between Paignton and Brixham, in the heart of South Devon and overlooking the beautiful River Dart. We were spoilt for choice on this one, but we’ve managed to narrow it down to our top 5 favourite local spots for delicious fresh fish and crunchy chips with plenty of salt and vinegar!
Rockfish, Brixham
With the original restaurant opening in nearby Dartmouth, this popular restaurant perked the tastebuds of locals and holiday-maker’s alike and soon opened more chains on other seafronts across the region, including our very own Brixham. Proudly serving local and sustainable seafood, Rockfish catch their own and supplement this with fresh selections from the Brixham market. Available to eat in and take out and just a short drive or bus ride away from the park, Rockfish is one not to be missed.

Krispies, Exmouth
Winner of the Fish and Chip Shop of the Year Award 2019, Krispies certainly has a lot to brag about. Located in the seaside resort of Exmouth, Krispies is the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat after your day out exploring the local town. We highly recommend the battered chips and the homemade mushy peas, a speciality of Krispies. Or, if you’re looking for something a little healthier, ask for your fish to be grilled.

Simply Fish, Brixham
This laid back eatery is a great place for a relaxing meal, the large windows and banquette seating create a chilled-out setting, perfect for a family feast. Dedicated to sustainability, the seafood is chosen from the local market and caught by local fisherman. This family-run business serves up delicious crispy cod, chunky chips and an array of sides and extras.

Paignton Pier Chippy Co., Paignton
Shortlisted for The Good Catch Award 2020 due to their commitment for only selling MSC certified seafood, Paignton Pier Chippy Co. serve high-quality, tasty fish and chips, using only the finest ingredients. Located directly on the Paignton seafront, this is the perfect hang out to take in the gorgeous coastal views after a day out on the beautiful sandy beach.
